After selecting an EXE file in the import screen, a new configuration option appears: EXE Options. Click on the link to open the configuration screen.
Details EXE configuration options
This feature is available only in the Multimedia Protector Premium Edition.
How does the EXE protection work?
Multimedia Protector supports copy protection and complete licensing for stand-alone EXE files including files on folders. It wraps the EXE file and additional files into the encrypted database. This kind of protection is not as strong as the Source Code integration with Licence Protector but a good choice if you do not have any Source Code or you do not want to spend time to add copy protection and licensing.
If you have just one or more EXE file and additional files like DLL or configuration files, import it and define one exe file as a start file. After the initial tests like evaluation or product activation have been done, the Multimedia Player starts the exe file, extracts all other imported files (configurable) and terminates automatically so that only the EXE file will be active.
If Source Code is available, the protection can be improved significantly by defining a password, which is required to start the EXE file.
All files (EXE file and all additional files) are extracted to the hard disk during runtime. The file of the database should have maximum 80-100 MB. Otherwise the loading time would be too long.
The EXE file must not require administration rights when it is running - e.g. it may not be an installer EXE file or a file which has words like setup, install in the file name. Also if a manifest file is delivered, the manifest file may not have a definition, that the EXE requires administration rights. For more details about EXE names and Vista read this blog.
If the EXE file opens configuration files and the files are expected on the same folder like the EXE file, retrieve the correct path by reading the configuration data.
Concurrent user is not supported when the main application is an EXE file.
