Select Administration / Setup, Manual Product Activation.

 

This page allows you to type in the Serial Number and Installation Code to create an Unlock Key in case you got a manual product activation request (E-Mail, Fax, Phone). This process also prevents, that the Activation Key or ID can be used multiple times.

 

Product Name

Picklist to select the product.

Module  ID

This option is only available, if  you have multiple modules, which are activated with a Serial Number. The configuration, which module is a Serial Number, is done in the project configuration, entry <IsSerial>.

 

Serial Number / ID

Enter the Serial Number transmitted by E-Mail / Fax / Phone

Customer Name

Name of the customer for documentation purpose.

 

Installation Code

Select the type of copy protection you want to use. The first value is the configured default value. Use other values only if the default value is not transmitted. Values with grey background color are used for a reactivation.

 

If you select the installation code 0, then an Unlock Key without copy protection is created.

 

The picklist of the Installation Codes is sorted like defined in the project config file - InstCodeType1-n

 

If the product definition allows a reactivation / reinstallation, then the necessary installation codes for the reactivation are requested.

 

 

E-Mail

E-Mail address transmitted by E-Mail / Fax / Phone

 

 

Click on the Link Create Key to create the Activation Key.

The Unlock Key is displayed. You can directly send the key via E-Mail by clicking on the link: Send E-Mail to customer.

 

Click on the Link Cancel to leave this screen without saving any data

You can automate the E-mail activation process using the E-mail Activator Service

If your workflow requires multiple Unlock Keys, you can configure this using NumberOfKeys2Display in the project config file.
