The copy protection works in the way that the license file is linked to the Serial Number of the MAC OS X.

 

To display the Serial Number,

 

•Choose About This Mac from the Apple Menu ( Apple logo on the Menu Bar))
•Double-click the version text, for example "Version 10.7"

To distinguish a Serial Number Key and the Serial Number of the MAC computer it is referenced as System ID in this documentation.

 

 

Licence Protector Windows has different hardware IDs. To distinguish the Windows ID (number 13), the System ID of the MAC version has the number 14. This is relevant for the configuration of the copy protection within the product configuration of the Activation Server 4.
