A lot of formats can be converted and then protected by Multimedia Protector. You will find a lot of tools by searching in Google.  We describe 2 tools more in detail.

 

The video will play only on a PC, not on a CD / DVD recorder connected to TV.

 

Convert to SWF

If you have multiple, small videos, we recommend converting the video to swf. A good tool that also adds player controls is Flash Video MX (Moyea).
 

•Convert the file to swf
•Import the file and set the swf file as start file
•If you have multiple video files to secure, use the Menu Creator.

Multimedia Protector expects, that the video has its own player controls (stop, play, forward, backward etc.). Most of the video conversion tools allow to add a player control and skins.

 

SWF has a limitation regarding number of frames with 16000 frames. A long video, e.g. with 20 minutes, can not be converted to flash. You can convert this video to FLV (flash video format) and place only this video in an own database:

 

•Convert the video to FLV
•Save each FLV file in a separate database - This feature can be used if you split the project into  several databases.
•Use one of the menus Multimedia Protector provides (Advanced Menu, Basic Menu) or any other menu application.
