If you already use the Web Activation Server, you can install the update using the ZIP file. If you want to use the MSI file then you have to uninstall the Server.
Backup the complete directory, especially important is
| • | your project files in the folder ..\alg |
Installation using ZIP file
| • | Delete the complete folder lpweb and all subfolders |
| • | Copy all files from the ZIP file to the webserver. Unzip it by using the same folder structure |
| • | Edit the configuration settings (see below) |
Installation using MSI file
| • | Uninstall the Web Activation Server (Control Panel, Software) |
| • | Edit the configuration settings (see below) |
Edit your configuration settings
| • | Edit the web.config file and add your parameters from the old web.config file (do not copy the old files). Configure the new values reportpath, languagefile, LPWebFrontend.net.registerserver.LicenceProtector-ASP.Net-WebService |
| • | Edit the licprotorws.config file add your parameters from the old web.config file. Note: Depending on the installation path names have change. There is now a folder ..\ALG for the Automatic Licence Generator and not ..\bin\alg like in version 2.4 |
| • | Copy your configuration XML files from the old folder \bin\alg to the folder \alg |
| • | Copy the licprotector.lic file or lpwas.lic file from your Licence Protector version 2.5.1 to the folder \alg |
| • | Update the database using the the script ..\db\create.sql |
| • | Use the testpage at http://localhost/lpweb/lpws.asmx to test the configuration |
| • | Log into the Web Administration Interface at http://localhost/lpweb/login.aspx |
