Customers who bought a license of Activation Server 4 4 will get an e-mail with a download link. If you did not get the e-mail you can request the installation package. E-Mail to support@mirage-systems.de.

 

The update requires a running instance of  Activation Server 4.0 or 4.1.

 

The exact update version is: 4.2.x

 

The update has new system requirements. Windows Server 2003 is no longer supported. Check the system requirements before you install the update.

Step 1 - Check your version

 

 

Only install this update if you have version 4.0 or version 4.1 installed

 

 

 

Step 2 - Make a Backup

 

Make a backup of all folders (typically inetpub\wwwroot\ActivationServer4).

 

 

Step 3 - Required information for installation

 

To install the update you need:

 

 

Serial Number

If you cannot locate your Serial Number contact support@mirage-systems.de.

 

 

SQL Server login details

If you cannot locate your SQL Server login details, open the file web. config (can the found in the installation folder, typically inetpub\wwwroot\ActivationServer4).

Search for: connectionString. You find the SQL configuration data in this line (connectionString="user id=sa;data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;persist security info=False;initial catalog=activation_server;password=ld9378378uejeUezR5§)                

 

Step 4 - Start Update

You have to start the update using the file Update Activation Server 4.2.2.3.bat. Starting the EXE installer would result in an error.

 

 

During installation you have to provide the SQL Server login details.

 

 

 

The installer has to update important server settings. Confirm all with YES.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5 - Activate your Server license

 

The Serial Number for version 4 is required. You need a Serial Number for either Windows or MAC Server version. Activate your license

 

 

Step 6 - Update E-Mail Activator Service

 

Updating the E-Mail Activator Service is only necessary if SLL is required.
